is iowa hawkeye's QB drew tate a legitimate heisman trophy candidate?
hard to believe, but pinnacle currently have him at a +2453 shot to take home the hardware. of course, he's probably just the third best QB in the big ten behind troy smith and chad henne, but still... tate was a first-team all conference performer in 2004 and is fifth in school history in passing yardage. he completed 62.2% of his passes last season while throwing for over 2,800 yards and 22 touchdowns. i think he will have a very good year, but how good can this kid tate be?
