    Alabama/LSU Offer 8th Grader Scholarship
The idea of offering a football scholarship to a middle school player is absurd in my opinion. Year after year former 5-star high school players wash out of college programs because they've failed to develop physically or mentally as college coaches had onced projected and hoped. Predicting the development path of a middle-schooler would obviously be even more difficult.

Alabama's Nick Saban and LSU's Les Miles have both offered 8th grader Dylan Moses a football scholarship. Moses is a 6-1, 215 pound running back from Baton Rouge, Louisiana.

I think it's rediculous to make these kind of offers to young kids. The pressure put on the kid is not fair. How does the kid stay grounded with all the attention? Total BS by Saban and Miles in my opinion.

    Disclosure: I'm an Alabama fan......................

Coming back from lunch and listening to a local radio sports talk show and was a little bit surprised by the Tide faithful. Seems a lot of fans are not on Saban's side about offering an 8th grader a football scholarship. Most thought it put undue pressure on the kid at such an early age.

Now, understand that Saban is king down here in Alabama and this little dustup will blow over soon. I just found it interesting that Alabama fans were taking on the ole coach.
