Went from VT -2 to Rutgers -1 within an hour or two.

My god, man. Did you never learn reading comprehension? My question wasn't even a complex sentence. It was a simple sentence.
Once again, I am in awe.

Sharp money. Public money. Who knows? Some syndicate probably hit Rutgers hard or a tout service released Rutgers as their play.

Why was Va Tech favored here is the real question?
They are 11-3 all time over Rutgers and Rutgers own the longest active bowl winning streak.
Va Tech is unranked and opened as a favorite over the ranked team because if Vegas had listed Rutgers as a favorite early. Then people would have really pounded Rutgers.
However cunning as Vegas is by opening Va Tech a favorite it played the head game with those who fail to cap the game for themselves.
Would you hesitate to bet on a team that is 3-11 against the other team if they opened as a favorite?
Would you question whether Rutgers streak stays intact if they are listed as a dog over a unranked team.
Its all psychological warfare and the books are masters of it.
my 2 cents

VT leads in all statistical categories virtually. The only one they don't that is of note is 3rd down conversion %, chalk that up to strength of schedule differences imo.
The purpose of my asking was if anyone had seen an injury or anything substantial apart from the obvious one - money flowing on Rutgers.

Strange as this sounds Rutgers have the advantage defensively.
points allowed #5 to #44
ypg allowed #15 to #27
red zone scoring allowed #9 to #64
yards per rush allowed #9 to #29
interceptions taken #10 to #58
defensive field goal conversions allowed #18 to #89
takeaways per game #9 to #73
Va tech does have a better Sack and 3rd down stopping %
For me its all about the turnovers Rutgers average 2.5 take aways per game and Va tech is giving the ball away a average of 2 times per game.
Also as weird as it seems Rutgers is allowing 59% on field goal attempts. How and why I am not sure but I like it. Va Tech is allowing 80% and they use to be the Beamer ball specialist.
