#4No. As long as Stanford plays a field-position game, they will win easily.
On offense, UCLA is not going to be able to protect Hundley as long as Franklin is being held in check on the ground, and Stanford has the athleticism/talent to defend the run while still applying pressure to Hundley without having to rely on excessive blitzing. Taking away the run, UCLA needs a couple of big plays throughout the game to flip the field, putting points on the board whenever they can, whether it be TD or FG.
On defense, they need to stop Stepfan Taylor and create pressure on Hogan. I would be very surprised if UCLA gets the better of this Stanford Offensive Line after being thoroughly dominated by them last weekend. It's a mismatch in the Cardinal's favour, and working from that strength, Hogan will have the time to sit in the pocket and make plays.
UCLA is a team that can win a shootout, but not a defensive battle.Comment -

OK fellas heres the angle. Standford and ucla are similarly talented squads, on a neutral field i would rate it at pickem. That last game meant nothing, Mora didn't necessarily toss the game, but he gave the "vanilla" game plan and has kept his "a" game plan for the big game, not the qualifier. a win there would have secured a pac 12 championship with oregon which wouldn't have made much sense. 9 points ia heck of a lot especially with a very good coach on your side. it is also very difficult to beat a well coached team twice in one season. proper adjustments will be made, and it should be a very competitive ball game. anything can happen of course as stanford is very talented, but id say taking the points here is an investment, not a gamble.Comment -

Most importantly, even if you were just trying to get through the game, you would NEVER just allow your QB to take the kind of abuse that Hundley did from Stanford's pass rush. Every time a QB gets hit, he's risking broken ribs, concussion, etc, any of which would have crippled their chance of winning the next game.Comment -

#10telling u ucla is a good play. mora will whip them in shape after the shelacking, will be a crisp team. 9 points in the rain, in a defensive game where ucla is a better rushing team..and coming off an embarrassing performance. they were not prepared because of their mental state going into last game, this should be a different ball game.Comment -

Defensive Rushing yards/game allowed:
Stanford 71.4 #1 in the Nation
UCLA 153.3
Rushing First Downs allowed:
Stanford 62
UCLA 93
Average per Rush:
Stanford 2.4 #1 in the nation
UCLA 4.1
Stanford has basically underutilized Stephan Taylor more often than not this year. You can be sure they won't do so in this game. And, by the way, Hogan is quite the running QB. Enjoy the game and see for yourself which team rushes for more yards.Comment -

#13Um. I'd say this is the more relevant statistic for you if you're going to go touting UCLA's rushing game. I'm not even getting into offensive metrics but both teams average 4.42 yards/rush this season so not sure where you figured UCLA is better.

#16as a ravens fan, i'd advise to stay away from steelers+9.5 .... theyre a different team @ home. they beat steelers with ben like 35-7 week 1 in baltimore. they just lost to the browns. although this is usually a close game i just cant see it. good play on ucla last night.Comment -

#25Good call and nice hit! Complete genius gameplan by Mora and Co. and real ineptitude by Shaw and his team. I had a large bet on STA -325 so we're both winners but you didn't have to sweat...well except for what should have been a pick 6 late.
You had the right side.Comment
