Peace out boys...I gotta call it quits!
I think that I'm a decent capper, and I think if I had a decent roll to work with I could probably make consistent money with this thing. But since I dont I use the money I have to play parlays to try to get a decent roll (I know it's stupid). But to me taking 100 bucks and betting 10 bucks a game just doesnt do it. I dont have the patience for this. Last Saturday I had a thread that showed three seperate parlays that all lost by one game. well here is what I had tonight:

    10589703 4 Team PARLAY
    $ 99.00 wagered to win $ 1,138.50 at 11/20/2008 5:21:53 PM
    Odds : 11.50 to 1 PARLAY
    LOSE $ 99.00
11/20/2008 6:00:00 PM CB USC to Win -8.5(-110)
OREILLY PUERTO RICO TIP OFF @ San Juan PR - On ESPNU
    USC 61 SETON HALL 63
    status : LOSE
11/20/2008 6:00:00 PM CB RICE to Win -2.5(-110)
BASKETBALL TRAVELERS INVITATIONAL @ Provo UT
CAL POLY SLO 76 RICE 81
    status : WIN
11/20/2008 6:00:00 PM CB IOWA to Win -9.5(-110)
    IOWA 70 THE CITADEL 48
    status : WIN
11/20/2008 7:00:00 PM CB UC DAVIS to Win +10.5(-110)
    UC DAVIS 59 ARKANSAS 68
    status : WIN

Of course once again a one game loss (this one even more painful because of USC's horrible 2nd half after being up 15 at the half. I gotta give it up for a while because I dont have enough money to bet games singularly AS IT SHOULD BE DONE. and doing this parlays is just a waste of money....Not to mention horribly frustrating when I lose every single one by one game.

I'm gonna try putting some money on the side on a weekly basis, and staying away from gambling until I have the funds to bet games singularly, and do it the right way. Hopefully I wont be gone too long. Good luck boys and girls with all your bets for the rest of football and the recently started CBB season!!!!!!!

I've been there bud. I know this feeling. Good capping, poor money management. Reliance on parlays at the end. All you can do is learn from mistakes and keep fighting.

At least you got enough sense to know
when to quit. just remember to take your own advice.

why not just put the $100 on 1 game and build it up, and lose the lotto mentality

Yeah.Parlays are tough man.The only way I stay afloat is through the straights.I parlay most of my straights as well but rarely hit one.Usually go3-1or5-2 or something but thats a come up on the straights.Ijust make a small play on the parlays.GL Ddbldown.Appreciate all your input and knowledge!

if you MUST parlay, look into round robins for smaller prices, they don't pay as huge but you don't have to hit every game..if you were doing round robins on those 3 you would have won money. if you deposit 100, put 44 on 2 solid games and the rest on parlays...if you clip a decent amount out of 10 games you should be over $500 if you increase a little each play...

I've also been in those shoes. One thing that helped me a bunch was switching to matchbook.com. You get better odds, and you cannot parlay. You can start with 50 bucks on a Thursday night or Sat morning, and just play day, afternoon, evening all weekend long and your roll will grow a lot quicker than you think.

If gambling is a more serious issue than you've led on though, it takes a bigger man to walk away forever. It can ruin your life. And if you have expectations that things will be wildly different and you'll cash our for tens of thousands of dollars if you wait for awhile and come back, chances are that won't be the case.
