#2yeah, i'll talk you out of it with an old gambling axiom: never step in front of a moving train. K State has been pasting teams and covering with ease. of course, that run will eventually end, but i don't think that i'd want to try and predict when it will happen.
i am even less likely to fade K State during this run now that i've learned that Collin Klein is perhaps creepier than Tebow. fanaticism is powerful stuff that can aid dumb meatheads in accomplishing great things (athletic/physical things, that is).Comment -

#3I've watched both teams play a few times this season, and just don't see K-State as more than a TD better on the road in this spot. You're right though: they seem to be playing with an omnipotent presence by their side. They sure do have Vegas baffled.Originally posted by BiffTFinancialyeah, i'll talk you out of it with an old gambling axiom: never step in front of a moving train. #4don't get me wrong, NC - i can see why this play is objectively attractive, i just don't want to step in front of that train. the 2011 and 2012 K State teams are a bona fide aberration that cannot be explained properly with numbers. since i base everything upon numbers/stats, i decided at some point last season that i would not be fading K State so long as Collin Klein is there. i simply cannot quantify them. for example, how the fk does this team manage, consistently, to require less than 10 yards per point? they don't look as dynamic and efficient as Oregon, but man, their efficiency blows everyone away (particularly when you consider that their offense does not look that dynamic). i can't figure them out so i will not lose money trying. K State is a team that i simply watch and enjoy (or bet the over).Originally posted by No coincidencesI've watched both teams play a few times this season, and just don't see K-State as more than a TD better on the road in this spot. #5I don't know. Like I said, I've watched them a few times this year and can't explain what I see. They don't really make sense on paper or to the observant eye. They're good -- don't get me wrong -- but an unbeaten national title contender?Originally posted by BiffTFinancialdon't get me wrong, NC - i can see why this play is objectively attractive, i just don't want to step in front of that train. the 2011 and 2012 K State teams are a bona fide aberration that cannot be explained properly with numbers. since i base everything upon numbers/stats, i decided at some point last season that i would not be fading K State so long as Collin Klein is there. i simply cannot quantify them. for example, how the fk does this team manage, consistently, to require less than 10 yards per point? they don't look as dynamic and efficient as Oregon, but man, their efficiency blows everyone away (particularly when you consider that their offense does not look that dynamic). i can't figure them out so i will not lose money trying. #8Dunno about titles, but on paper, I see no reason to take TCU over K State.
K State is 78% ATS, 9-0, averages 19 points per game more than TCU, demands an extra yard per play and converts 15% more 3rd downs. Outscored TCU by an average of 31 points against the same opponents (Ok St, Texas Tech WVU etc).
They're not miles ahead of every opponent on paper, but they have a coaching staff that knows how to adjust, exploit weakness, and win football games. This team is so much fun to watch because they do consistent work.
If I'm betting against a team, I prefer they're consistently terrible or terribly inconsistent.Comment -

#10Patterson's every bit the coach that Snyder is. TCU's just really young and had a lot of injuries and other issues to deal with this year.Originally posted by baneThey're not miles ahead of every opponent on paper, but they have a coaching staff that knows how to adjust, exploit weakness, and win football games. PP, I considered Arizona State but I just can't get a read on that game. What about Penn State?Comment -

#12Never said a bad word about Patterson. Patterson is very open about emulating Snyder.Originally posted by No coincidencesPatterson's every bit the coach that Snyder is.
It's just, those sound like reasons not to take TCU, especially for a larger play. Why do you like the play?Originally posted by No coincidencesTCU's just really young and had a lot of injuries and other issues to deal with this year.Comment
