How does this work?

how is it that (24)Northwestern opened as a 12 point underdog to an unranked Michigan team? How do they do these ranking that an unranked team is likely to beat a ranked team...shouldn't Michigan be the ranked team then? (does seem like Michigan would be higher rated on the AP polls though)

look at louville there ranked 9 and there favored by only 1half come -on something wrong
