    Intriguing teaser possibilities tonight.....
    Strictly for fun, obviously
Arkansas State, Florida State and Jacksonville.

    7-pointer would make it: PK, -6.5, +10.5

    Thoughts.....

I know you lose value crossing the zero, BUT, I have the Colts straight up and teased to + 3.

I think those Jags might bite you in the ass. How will they score. No MJD. Gabbert?

Jags have lost 21 of last 27 games. Wow.

You're right you lose an unbelievable amount of value

It's also a nice little tidbit that JAX's only win is against the Colts.

Yes, but everything relative. On a 2 or 3 team teaser, yes, it's silly. When I'm playing with house money and hot, I love to do a few 7 team, 6pt teasers.

#1, I'm looking for a couple teams that I just need to win on (Colts). I spread out a couple teams I really like and then usually have the Sun night or Mon night game, affording me a window for hedging opportunities, if successful.

I'm aware they are sucker bets, but they have really been padding my roll.

I've been hitting at least one every week. Last week I hit two.

I made a thread with 4, 7 team teasers furthur down.

I never ever deal with teasers.....I understand value to an extent, but explain losing value crossing zero if you don't mind.

With a teaser, you basically are buying points. (reduced odds)

Some argue that on certain numbers you are in effect, buying points you don't need.

They say don't cross zero, because games don't end in a tie.

You lose value, because every point you buy cost you juice and you paid for a point that is useless.

You could also argue that there is no value in going from a dog to a favorite or vice versa.

I could go on and on.

Basically they are a sucker bet. The odds aren't in your favor. It's hard enough picking one game straight up. With that said, I still like to play a couple for kicks when I'm hot. When you're treading water and keep betting them, they will eat you up.

Yeah I get how they work and horrible odds, just didn't get the 'losing value' aspect. Makes a little more sense now, thanks.

BTW, when a teaser card pays, say, 8 for 2 - what is the ratio? It can't be 4:1 so how do you calculate the payout?

8/2 or 4/1 odds, same thing to me?

$100 wager on either ratio, pays $400

Doesn't say 8 to 2, says 8 for 2. Last time I bet this it was 7 for 2, logic says its 3.5 to 1 payout but it wasn't.....

Actually the dog to fave works but that is in pleasers. It all comes down to how a game normally ends. A team favored by 4 or 5 pleased down to a dog by 2 is bad because a win by a TD is very possible, rendering the extra juice worthless.

Overall I love teasers, they have saved me this year, but you need to know what to pick in them.
