Massachusetts is one of the worst road teams in college football. They lose by an average of 40 points per game on the road. Akron is playing at home and covering a spread of 17 points seems doable.

    Akron -17 is my play

Not just road teams buddy, they are one of the worst in general. Akron is bad but should cover this 17 with ease.

Massachusetts is 2-7 against the spread. They cover the spread only 22% of the time and they fail 78% of the time. The linemakers don't seem to realize how bad this team is and tend to put out lines which are not what or where they should be.

Yeah sure Akron is bad and they played the underdog all season long except when they played against Morgan State when they favored to win the game by 13. They won by 60.

What if a team was 0-40 ATS. Are you saying they have 0% chance to cover the next game?

No that's not what I am saying.

What I am saying is that there is a likelihood the trend will continue

0-40 ATS is an extreme condition which exists only in science fiction. You are taking an extreme case to make a point but if you run into team with a stat like that, please let me know.

There is a reason why teams fail to cover the spread repeatedly and as they say history repeats itself.

Gotcha, I am more of a fundamental and situational handicapper. I rarely use technical/trends.

Dude ! If your grandma and mine put together a football team called "GrandMa Inc", I am pretty sure they would beat Massachusetts by a touchdown.

So if GrandMa Inc can beat Massachusetts by a touchdown, you don't think Akron can beat them by 2 touchdowns and a field goal ?

                        Would you rather...

                        A) Trust Akron with your money

                        or

                        B) Trust a crackhead with your money

                        Neither is a good option.
