Memphis vs SMU

It Looks like 63 percent of people are on memphis, i dont know too much on either team, but Memphis plus 1 sounds great. Smu though they have had a tougher schedule have a record of 1-8, while Memphis is 4-5. Is there something im missing here or is this game as obvious as it seems?
