Anyone else having issues purchasing bitcoin today. I just got an email saying my limits were raised but when I try to purchase, it says temporarily disabled. I did see on coinbase statues page they are having an issue it looks like, maybe this is the issue.

Coindesk says the rage has been 13.5k up to 16.5k today but posters report some exchanges got as high as 20k before pulling back again.
On top of that there is a massive backlog on confirmations.
Bad day to be transacting.Comment -

I'm stuck from yesterday. Sent priority when the market had 67,00 unconfirmed. Suddenly it got backlogged. Been waiting almost 24 hours for a confirmation. 110 St per byte. It says I'll be waiting forever.

Is etherum quicker? I guess it must be. Still better than getting and sending **'s, but it is starting to push that limit.
Probably many like that.
The current issue is that most of them have to exchanged for bitcoin at some point. Kind of negating both advantages..Comment -

#7Originally posted by OptionalI assume so but have never had any to know for sure. Bitcoincash costs 1 cent per send and is confirmed in minutes, and apparently is scalable enough to cope with big growth.

I'm just going sportsbook to sportsbook at the moment. If I need cash I would take a check. Waiting is better than the coinbase spread.
Delay is annoying, but price is up between when I received and while I am still waiting to confirm, so it isn't a big deal. Just a frustrating problem, since I always send priority. It was an unlucky time to send.
How long would it take for the transaction to cancel based on not being processed?Comment -

#10I have used Ethereum when transferring to an exchange to buy an alto. Both times it took less than a minute to get a confirmation and less than 10 minutes to get enough confirmations and only cost around $.50 each way.
Have heard similar experience with Litecoin so would advise using one of the two roads less traveled if the option is available to fund your favorite book.Comment -

#12I was finally able to purchase yesterday. It only took about an hour and had it in my blockchain wallet. I had to spend $14 to get it from my wallet to book priority, but it made it there within an hour as well. I cannot figure that out. There were 212,000 unconfirmed at that time, and at times there are only 15000 unconfirmed, it takes about 5 hrs to get from coinbase to blockchain.
Is today any better?Comment -

#13If i decide to use etherum, do i do the same process? I deal with Heritage so I am sure they take it.
Do I purchase from coinbase so I can buy it instantly, and then send to blockchain wallet, and then get an address from heritage and then send to heritage from blockchain wallet just like we do bitcoin?Comment -

#15Not from purchasing, but I recently sent some from my blockchain account to my gdax 25 hours ago. It says it in my coinbase account as pending. There are zero confirmations on my blockchain side ( i think I opted for the minimal fee). I click on view transaction from coinbase and it pulls it up on blockcypher as "no transaction found". It did not say this roughly 16 hours ago. I'm guessing after a period of time, if it does not go through, it will credit back to my blockchain? Anyone have any idea?Comment -

Yes same process, but I wouldn't advise doing it with Heritage as their processor charges .0025 BTC as a conversion fee which runs out to about $40 at the current price if you send an alt. Bookmaker and BetOnline don't charge a separate fee.

Another poster told me the opposite.Who sets the exchange rate?
We use our own exchange rate, determined using a variety of market sources. Whether you’re exchanging a small amount or something larger, you can expect the same exchange rate.
What are the fees? You can expect to pay a miner’s fee on every transaction, but nothing more. We calculate the miner’s fee by looking at the best fee across all coin networks and averaging things out. Below, you’ll find our miner’s fee structure:
BCH: Bitcoin Cash Miner Fee: .0002 BCH
ETH: Ether Miner Fee: 0.001 ETH
LTC: Litecoin Miner Fee: 0.001 LTC
XMR: Monero Miner Fee: 0.02 XMR
DASH: Dash Miner Fee: 0.002 DASH
BTC: Bitcoin Miner Fee: 0.001 BTCComment
