#59 for 45 as a team is a relevant sample size and worth considering into your breakdown of game.Comment -

#6Well first off it's all built into the line anyway. Secondly I disagree to some extent. Any pitcher can be dominant on any given day. Phil Humber, Anibal Sanchez, Gallarraga threw no hitters so if I were to take stats from those games and pair them with 1 other start vs the opponent then they'd look dominant. You show Cano as a .167 hitter but he went 1/3 with a bomb last game against Cobb.
It's too small a number to be relevant. You can't look at the numbers in a vacuum. One could say that Jeter going 0-6 makes it even more likely that he'll go 3-4 this game.
Edit - also you have to consider the point at which these stats were gathered. The first time the Yanks faced Cobb it was one of his first starts ever as a major leaguer and he walked 4 in 6 innings. We all know that professional hitters dramatically improve once they have faced a pitcher the 3rd/4th etc time through.Comment -

#8i understand where you are coming from .. but the way the yankees have been hitting + facing tampa bay in their home is a disaster waiting to happen ...
they have a hard time to win there as it is and facing a pitcher who kind of shut them down in 1 start is hard enough .. i know cano hit a bomb i watched the game ... but you have to consider every number at this point
i might play yankees RRL tonight thinking they might explode one game hopefully ... but then again i never win lolComment -
