You concerned at all about Volstad's recent turn for the better? I have been getting burned recently taking ov's with one or both pitchers being bums and having a 4-2 final. My other concern is the Cubs bats may be quiet after yesterdays outburst and you never know what the Giants will bring.

cant speak for patty but id imagine none of that was even a factor, wind blowing out and it hot as hell at wrigley...

I hear you... what kind of wind are we talking about? And I agree that line is high for a day game at Wrigley for a reason like yesterday. Do you know who the head ump is?

Head Ump is supposedly Bucknor.

This over makes me nervous for a couple of reasons. Bumgarner and Volstad are both ground ball pitchers (last three starts each pitcher has given up only one home run) and San Fran and Chicago are two of the lowest home run teams in baseball. All Bumgarners games versus Chicago have been under or a push

Not sure if the wind plays a factor or not here.

myself i actually like the heat more than the wind, i wanna say ive seen bumgarner struggle in this type of heat before (dont hold me to this as my memory could be wrong), as long as batters take good approach i think pens be involved pretty early and neither pen is exactly lights out...

I think Bummy can probably keep the Cubs under wraps pretty well. However I'm am not completely sold on Volstad's sudden gamer status. That horrific run he went on still resonates and he could be due for another stinker. GL Patty!

that right on 4th of july Bumgarner pitched in a early hot gm and got blasted by nats, obviously nats better than scrubbies but they not exactly offensive juggernauts and it was pretty clear the heat had a effect..

Closed 10.5 my book!! So I jumped on FF total over 5.5 instead which had not budged.

Good luck and great number at 9.5. These games are always fun to watch. I read where fly balls can add as much as 80-100 feet in the wind at Wrigley.

lot of game left, but I'm nervous already. Pretty sure all the runs have been scored with 2 outs, hardly seen runners in scoring position, no team really getting guys on base.

At least we're into the Giants pen already.

Giants having a weird end of July/August. Their starting pitchers all getting rocked & the BULLPEN is actually doing better while it was completely vice versa with Bumgarner and Vogie on fire just a couple starts before.
