    Tigers tonight
If they can't find the motivation to avoid a sweep in Kansas City against Jeremy fvcking Guthrie knowing the White Sox have already lost today with a big series in Detroit coming up, I question the very makeup, guts and heart of this team (not that I haven't already).

1-0 in yesterday's game. Many, many RISP left on base. I'm going over 8.5/9 for this game.

Oddsmakers have to respect Guthrie's recent form, and that Porcello can get lit up like a Christmas tree at a moment's notice.

I'm sorry, but "Guthrie" and "ace" don't belong in the same sentence.

He's had a nice stretch recently. Let's just leave it at that.

What about the ov Coin? We have an ump with a friendly recent ov 4-1-1 track record and it will be hot mid 90's and heat index low 90's as well. And less than stellar bull pens on top of that!

Hard to argue against it, but who knows. I'm mentally handicapped when it comes to totals.

Detroit is a frustrating team. I know that from using there players in fantasy baseball in daily leagues. Aside from Cabrera and Fielder this is mainly a vastly overrated team. Smart Pitchers usually pitch around them a little and let the Jhonny Peralta's of the world beat them which ain't happening most of the time. I can't tell you how many times I have seen Jhonny Peralta hit into a double play with bases loaded with usually A. Jack, Cabrera, and Fielder on.

Peralta has been awful this year.

Last night, Delmon Young whiffed on a pitch in the ninth with two on from KC's closer that was literally handed to him on a platter. Hanging slider up in the zone that he just swung right through.

Jackson's been good and Fielder and Miggy are Fielder and Miggy, but the rest of that lineup can rot in hell.

Think I will roll with the ov's. Aside from the factors I mentioned above another thing I like is backing 2 teams with capable offenses facing bad/average pitching following a low scoring game. GL with the Tigers.

I'm stacking Tigers in fantasy tonight.
They might even put up double digit runs.
I'm betting on a big output.

Generally after games like 1-0, 2-0, totals have gone clear over. I'm banking on that factual statistic that has carried throughout the year. Same happened with the Rays and Texans earlier - Yu Darvish v. Shields 1-0 game many RISP left on, over and over, one might expect that given the two pitchers on the mound, however the next game offenses exploded (Harrison v. Cobb). I generally take the over after these low scoring games and I'm 8-2 over those games. However this is part of a parlay and generally never advise a parlay... So if you do tail me, do so at your own risk. Just saying that stats back up the over in this instance, not to mention the heat index is high in KC including humidity.

There "support" players are very average at best. League averages players surrounded by 2 stars and 1 in the making... Other words the lineup has very little balance if you can pitch around the stars or they happen to have an off nite.

I hate to think where they'd be if Prince or Miggy went into a slump, which they've somehow managed to avoid so far.

Those 2 are what I call "generational players" in their prime. The game is just that damn easy for them. So you will rarely see a slump and when you do it is a few games at most instead of months like some players. I wish my braves had one of them. We use to have one in Chipper Jones, but as you know he is long in the tooth now. Funny thing is he still the best hitter on the Braves team... Should tell you all you need to know about the Braves. There best hitter is on his swan song. But Chipper was truly a generational player and suprisingly underrrated by most because he hasn't been a dominant player for some years now due to age and the inability to stay in the lineup.
