Two Forces Collide at Yankee Stadium (Hernandez/Kuroda)
The New York Yankees are still near their opening number of -150 in the MLB betting odds, which is a bit surprising, but not shocking given the following numbers:

    • Yankees SP Hiroki Kuroda has won all four of his daytime starts this year, holding opponents scoreless in 30 combined innings. No other MLB pitcher, who has made at least four daytime starts, has held his opponent scoreless.
    • Among all MLB pitchers with at least two starts at the new Yankee Stadium, Mariners SP Felix Hernandez has the lowest career ERA (3-1, 1.47 ERA in four starts)
    • Hernandez has gone 4-2 with a 2.49 ERA in six career efforts in the Bronx

In Larry Vanover's 22 home plate assignments this year - the games have averaged 7.18 runs and 1.45 home runs

I think it's interesting that following a game where the Mariners allow 12 or more hits, they are 32-98 SU since 2004 as a road dog. Factor in game two of a series and they are 8-35 SU....1-18 SU since the 2008 season.

And let's not forget it was Fat Felix that broke A-Rod's hand.

I'm sure most teams don't win that much when they allow 12+ hits

I stayed away from this game as I don't have a crystal ball.
