Early sharp action has landed on the Los Angeles Dodgers for Saturday's afternoon tilt, but they better hope All-Star outfielder Matt Kemp breaks out of his current slump:
The Giants have been one of the best home teams in the majors (31-18) and are also 46-28 in July over the last two-plus seasons....take a long hard look at backing Zito at a nice price
- Kemp is a .449 career hitter (22 of 49) against Barry Zito, but has just one hit in his last 17 at-bats
- The Giants left-hander has really controlled the rest of the Dodgers lineup, most importantly the bats behind Kemp, with Andre Ethier batting .171 (6 for 35) and Hanley Ramirez checking in at .111 (2 for 18)
- Dodgers starting pitcher Chad Billingsley hasn't won at AT&T Park since July 13, 2007, losing his last four decisions in that span
- Los Angeles is 5-8 in its last 13 games in the Bay Area
