20 playoff games batting cleanup in a good lineup. 6 RBI.

Howard is a joke, I would sit him, or tell him to bunt when you goes up, all he does is strike out all day every day.

people are just realizing this now, ya he hits homeruns but any other great hitter in the MLB could hit that many homeruns if they were to swing for a homerun every swing. I mean if he doesn't homer he is walking back to the dugout with another K. Someone should tell this moron that base hits are good too because obviously Howard hasn't got that memo yet.

I disagree. Many great hitters don't have this kind of power. Ryan Howard and Adam Dunn are similar players, but Dunn draws more walks.

He is an overrated player, but this thread is about him in the playoffs, where he's basically worthless. In the regular season he's still somewhat valuable, although he never should've won MVP and he should never win again.

that is because Adam Dunn doesn't swing at 95% of pitches and swing for the fence every swing

What I never understand is when he's in a slump... why not hit a grounder the other way?? Its a double almost for sure...now when hes swinging good I can understand it you wanna see his power. When there is a chance where he needs to get on or needs a hit, just a pepper grounder to the left side would cause all kinds of chaos, just don't get it.

he aparently, can only hit certain pitches, from certain pitchers, at certain speeds
he cant recognize where or how the ball will be thrown. he is garbage
if they had lost last night, it woulda been on him
but they will win the series even without his fat ass

When you base your entire existence in the majors on hitting home runs, then this will happen from time to time.

Bonds never did it either, used to drive me nuts. Although his slumps were shorter and less frequent, he had the bat control to do it.

He is still having a better playoff run than ARod ever had as a Yankee ...
Ryan Howard is Dave Kingman reincarnated ... hey, take it for what it is!

You could put a cardboard cutout at the plate, and he'd do better than A-Rod. Same rbi/homerun production, and no danger of a double play.
