#15I fukking hate late steam. For the life of me, I cannot find a rhyme or reason. I've passed on plays due to late steam and the plays ended up winning. I've made plays due to late steam and the plays ended up losing.
I suspect most of the late steam involve:
1) squares going off a "hot tip" after the market has already matured
2) books fukking with us to entice action
3) for the late games, degens looking for that final action of the night
I'm sure every once in a while, late steam will be based on smart money. However, I'm fairly convinced most of the sharps have made their play much earlier in the day (with the rare exceptions).
Now, I just cap the game the day or night before, check my notes the following morning, check line movements early to mid-day, and then play or pass.Comment -
