That's all fine and dandy, but SP is not the problem in Detroit.

Hamels isn't going to shore up their bullpen, or hit No. 5 in the order, or provide a dependable glove in the infield. These problems won't go away when he pitches just like they don't go away when Verlander, Fister, Scherzer or Porcello pitch.

Why trade for him for half a season? There is no way in hell they can sign him after the season and have 4 ******* players around 20 million a year.

We don't have hardly any talent in the minors to begin with...no need to waste it on a rent a player when the team is playing so mediocre to begin with.
