Who handicaps at night and who caps in the morning?
I have been in the habit of starting my day handicapping the day's MLB games. I am clearly losing some degree of edge by not capping the night before. But is it enough to justify the change? I much prefer it over a first cup of coffee rather than the end of a long day or night out.

There are some good MLB handicappers here. What do you do? How strict/consistent are you in your approach?

I do most of my research the night before but I double-check some things and place the actual wager in the morning.

i prefer starting at night (then can bet anything that i feel strong enough and think will move if i wait), but after i get enough info in my head i like to sleep on it then re-evaluate in morning or when i get home from work..

Starting lineups are key, but got burned today when I bet on the Reds with ryan braun being out...

Check games and lines at night then I browse the starters then morning see the lines if any movement and more lineup stuff

If i have the gas, i like to cap at night and shop those overnight lines at 5 dimes,
I think you can get the best numbers this way.

I run my stuff as soon as probables are updated the day before, and then import lines once they come out from Pinnacle/Greek in the early evening. From there, I'll play anything that screams value (and obviously that I feel is going to move against me), but mostly wait until morning on everything else to look at line movement.

As 2dabank said, 1st game of series' are tough without knowing the ump, so O/U's are on hold until I know that info.

Whenever I have the chance during the day. There is so many games in baseball it can be very time consuming and even overwhelming at times.

11am EST. That's when the true odds are set and when the match up info is available.
