I just booked the total over for that game, so hopefully we both hit.

I might play the Dodgers tonight actually. I am a Mets fan, but I think Dickey will struggle again after finally crumbling last time out against the Yanks. Dodgers are playing like crap, but +128 is too juicy to pass up in this spot.

yep lived here in stl most my life...facing wainwright (who has returned to form) and facing scrubs philly was throwing a little different..that said cards pen is stir fried shit and like i said it is hot as a mf'er here so ball should jump off bats for both teams this weekend.. nothing make me happier than a 5-4 cards win (with cards up 3-1 after 5, lol)..

You're doing a little better than I am to date, but I started a similar "project". My girfriend doesn't really understand "gambling" and she doesn't know why I spend so much time with it, so instead of attempting to explain all the aspects, I decided to open an account for her and let her learn on the run.

She gave me $20 on Jan 15th. I attempted to explain "money management" to her with such a limited amount, but it fell on deaf ears. Anyway, at her urging, I started betting $5, then upped it as the account grew. She was bewildered as to why we couldn't simply bet a larger amount on games she felt were "sure things".

I told her to be patient, and I would get her $1000 by Xmas. Try explaining "kelly" staking to a woman, and one who doesn't really comprehend odds in the first place.

Well, this is June and she has just under $500 in her account. She's still betting too much per bet (around $30), but she's happy and luckily she hasn't hit any big losing streaks. The whole process has given me much more leeway, as far as my handicapping time, and she's happy with her new found bankroll.

So, good luck on your venture to riches. It's frustrating at times, starting with such a small amount, as it seems the "roll" never grows, but patience is the key......

I'd have days where I'd be up say $100 early, then lose it, and then feel like I need to chase on the late game to get back to my high water mark of the day. Then I'd start making stupid live bets, 1st inning props, and always lose it all. Then I had that shitty bitter feeling and redeposit my hard earned $ the next day, rinse and repeat.

Keeping it small works best for me. I've realized that, while making $ doing this would be great, I really just love the action and the thrill of handicapping, trying to find angles, playing trends, and predicting outcomes. I hated the feeling of going all-in on a chase play and losing, sick to my stomach, especially on a bad beat.

This way, it allows me to feed my action needs and just simply hope for a positive day. If not, no big deal, there's always tomorrow to try and make it back. But at least I know I won't wake up to a $0 account balance and feel like shit.

The contrarian in me really wants to play the over in San Fran tonight... Just seems too easy to take Cain in this spot, everyone knows how good he is and that no one has scored on SF pitching in days. Leake can easily get lit up, and Reds have some power bats in that lineup.

way i see it is while Cook sux advance stats say he isnt as bad as his era, in that park against that team i think he can manage a decent outing until he can get to sox pen...on other side i kinda like Noesi, he has had rough patches but the kid has pitched well against some solid linups..also helping is that although cederstorm has umped a lot of overs this season he calls a high strike rate so id expect a generous k-zone..
