The guy had a balky knee that he tweaked during last season. My guess is that it screwed up his mechanics pretty bad. I can't quantify, but I believe he started a game at Gwinnett in May in which he was ill and gave up something like 10 runs in 2 IP. Other than that, he had a mediocre start and the rest were decent to good. I'm sure his morale was shot when he got sent down, so the overall results are not surprising to me. As a Braves fan, my expectations aren't high but you never know. I'm tempted to back the Braves as I think there is some value there but there are much better plays on the board. Jurrjens could be really shitty or just kind of bad, say 5 runs in 5 IP, and keep the Braves in the game. Their bats woke up in NY and they have a good record on Fridays, I think 9-1, as well as after off days....don't know if that means anything, like their 0-10 record on Mondays! BOLComment -

JJ will deal the Sox a loss tonight. He knows this is his shot and he wants his spot back in the rotation. Dont know if it'll work out in the long run but I expect to pitch his arse off tonight. He will battle and grind hard for 5+ inn. Braves lead when he exits and bullpen takes over. Braves steal one tonight (5-3 or 6-4 game).Comment -
