Rough loss for the dbacks last night, Hudson implodes in the fifth and they still come back but lose it in extra innings. You get a solid team at home ( Dbacks 6-1 in last 7 at home) against a struggling Mariners squad who are 3-7 in their last 10 and you get Cahill on the mound here. Cahill has been phenomenal in his last 3 starts, he has gone 3-0 with a 0.77 ERA and a 20:8 K/BB ratio and he has gone over 7 innings in his last 3 starts. Overall, he is a solid hurler with impressive stats through out his career and may end up having a year like he did in 2010 if he keeps up with his recent performance, decent numbers facing Mariner hitters.

Vargas is having a solid year and is usually a pitcher that offers some value when you take into account his usual run support from this anemic Mariner offense, but he has struggled lately, putting up an ERA around 6 in his last 3 starts. Diamondbacks should avenge last nights tough loss here, good number with Cahill on the mound .

I have had good numbers on the Reds this year and they were playing much better ball than the indians before this series (Reds were 6-0 in their last 6 before this series , Indians entered this series 1-5 ) and Votto was just killing the ball but the Indians may get the sweep here.

Masterson is coming off a solid year last year and is pitching alot better this year than his 3-6 record would indicate. He was only lit up twice this year, once at Boston and once at home against KC, he just hasnt been getting the run support to win these games. He is 1-2 in his last 3 starts but hasnt given up more than 3 runs and has a 1.8 ERA over that span, hopefully he gets some run support here tonight. Masterson has good numbers against Votto and hopefully the Indians can get the sweep.
