Pirates haven't seen much of Niese. Regardless, it all depends if either pitcher can make there pitches and who is calling balls & strikes.
Pirates are likely not to score much. Mets can pound that ball if Morton is off.

going back 3 years with a young developing pitcher doesn't really mean much. Niese was pretty bad his first year full year as a starter even if his numbers don't appear far off from his career averages.

you could also point to the fact he's 1-0 against the pirates with 2.45 era in 2 starts.


The pirates can't hit and have been striking out at outrageous rates, so even if Niese/Morton is a wash i expect the mets bats to help them out.

Dickey K-ed 11 pirates last night in 7 innings....striking out 11 times vs a knuckleballer is flat out embarrassing.
