    Cubs/White Sox Friday afternoon
    White Sox (Humber) +126
    Cubs (Samardzija) -134

Before it happens, please don't mention irrelevant things like the Cubs being at home on a Friday.

Hard to back the Cubs, but no way I'm taking Humber.

Wait for lineups to be posted, White Sox played their A team today, Cubs did also minus Soto. If one or two starters are not in the lineup that's a 5-10 cent difference in value immediately that gives you an edge on the overnight line, and we can expect to see some rested players tomorrow.

Cubs ff, Cubs TTO, and CWS/CHC over for me. Both bullpens giving up a ton of runs lately (Cubs 15 R in last 15 inn and CWS 12 R in last 17 inn). Humber 7.20 ERA, 5.27 FiP, 1.87 WHIP L3 games he started compared to Samardzija's 1.37 ERA, 2.89 FiP, 0.86 WHIP L3 starts. Samardzija also is striking out 25% of the batters he's facing w/ a BB rate of 8% this season. WSox batting .313 w/ just under 5 r/g and Cubs batting .283 w/ an average of close to 6 r/g L5 games. Don't trust the pen enough to go large on the game so sticking w/ the ff vs Humber's lower than average performance since his perfect game.

Kerry Wood expected to announce his retirement today. Careful over backers. Absolutely love Woody as a person and wouldn't mind seeing him come in for one last batter to end an inning, but it is what it is.

That being said, can't back the Cubs against their rivals, but don't like Humber either. I'd lean Sox, but won't pull the trigger.
