Too many factors involved we all wish you could bet the top pitchers night in and out but there's more to it.

Not that I have any magic formula but those guys are gonna put their teams in position to win the majority of the time its just a matter of getting runs and the bullpen doing whats needed. Although as mentioned by others on here Halladay seems to be regressing, he did his job tonight but that was the Pads.

Those top-shelf guys command a steep price and can have days like Verlander went through over a week ago against KC.

This year it would probably be starsburg, verlander, halladay, Hammels, and king Felix.

looking at a starting pitchers ERA is the last stat you should look at.
