Brewers -1 -136 risk 1.36
Cardinals -1 -138 risk 1.38
Lynn has really stepped in here and looked impressive with Carpenter out and with Wainwright not looking sharp to start the season, though Wainwright did look alot better yesterday. That monday game was a really tough loss, Garcia threw a flawless game and yesterday ws another close loss, these 9th inning losses and meltdowns are tough but I dont see the Cardinals getting swept here.
Lynn has really looked impressive stepping in this starter role, he hasnt allowed more than one run in any game he has pitched this year, his strikeout to walk ratio is phenomenal, his whip numbers are below 1 at .74. He has already dominated the Cubs this year and is facing a Cubs team whose best hitters are are Castro and Lahair.
Volstad had a rough year last year and seems to be starting off this one on the wrong foot, going 0-2 with an ERA over 6 and the cardinals have put up pretty good numbers against him in his career and his numbers at Wrigley are pretty poor. The Cards have got some faulty bullpen work over the last 2 games so maybe looking at the first five innings might be worth it, I am just playing this run line, I just dont see the reigning world champs getting swept here.
