Dusty Baker is clueless, no defending him.
Currently batting a powerless(0HR, 3hits) Scott Rolen 4th, but Jay Bruce, is 5th. With 3HR and 8 hits.

Chapman is the best pitcher on the team, but wasted in the Bullpen. Your best pitchers are more valuable starting. He overpowers all batters, with one pitch. Difficult to reach full potential coming out of the bullpen. Do not hide Champan, have him demoralizing batters from the 1stinning.

If anything is going to stop the Reds from winning the division this year, it's Dusty. Tough to watch him run a team.

i don't think he makes the decision on who is the start and relievers. that is a front office decision.

however, if they use him every 3 or so days as a 2 to 3 inning reliever. that is pretty good value.

            5/7/12:

The victory was Baker's 1,499th. He is 1,499-1,380, 20th all-time for wins by a manager.

I love my Reds and am at the front of the line in disagreeing with the majority of Dusty's moves. As far as Chapman, I think he would've been the 5th starter if Madsen hadn't been lost for the season and Nick Masset started year on the DL and is still out. Chapman has been phenomenal since he stopped worrrying about throwing 105 mph and is using 2-3 pitches now to dominate hitters. He may be in the rotation by end of season. Walt Jocketty is as good as it gets as a GM and he lets Dusty run the team. That being said, it's hard to argue with how many games Dusty has won in his career. I don't know if he can manage a team well enough to get out of the 1st round of the playoffs because if he doesn't this year, I think he's gone.
