Solid Play on Cardinals today with WAINWRIGHT
Interesting line today on the Cards/Brewers game. Wainwright is one of the best young pitchers in the game and the Cards future ace. Greinke had a good start to the season last year but tailed off considerably towards the end of the season.

This line should be a pickem so if I can get Wainwright at +110, I'll take it all day. In addition, Cards offense flexed their muscles in the drubbing yesterday and I expect the same today. Brewers offense struggled yesterday and look for that trend to continue with Wainwright on the mound today.

    -------------WAINO IS BUENO------------
    ---------ADVANTAGE CARDINALS +110 /WAINWRIGHT --------

    Good Luck on your plays!

You're a little off base here. Wainwright hasn't pitched in a real game in a year due to Tommy John surgery and his velocity is down a bit from his old form. Why do you think Lohse started opening day instead of him? Greinke will be a top 10 pitcher in the NL this year, and the Brewers will desperately not try to start the season 0-2. I would take the Brewers all day in this one

WRONG ......Lohse started because new mgr Matheny didnt want to put the youngster out there on opening day. Also , Lohse is a proven solid veteran and was a smart idea to hand him the ball on opening day.

When did Wainwright become a "youngster"?

Also on Greinke, the 16 wins he got last year was very misleading. I followed him closely last year and his ERA hovered at well above 4.00 for most the year so those wins were not because of his fine pitching.

Like i said, this year Greinke will be a top 10 pitcher in the NL. And the Brew crew will win this game, I expect by 2-3 runs. Waster your $ on the Cardy's if you wish to, but i'm going the opposite way

You are wrong about everything here. Besides the fact that Wainwright was the closer of the Cardinals' 2006 championship team and has been in the starting rotation since (and is at least 30 years old), Greinke got off to a terrible start last year but he was 9-3 with a 2.59 ERA and 1.16 WHIP after the All-Star break with 102 Ks in 97 innings. So he didn't win because of his pitching?

Greinke is going to get rocked today by that Cards offense and we'll see if juiceless Braun can actually manage a hit.

I like the Cards too but don't like betting my teams. I'm on the under myself. GL, we both hit.

Maybe, maybe not but it does not change the fact that your reasoning was totally flawed.

I admit I was wrong about Greinke's last month of 2011. He did finish strong so you are correct LT. His first three months of 2011 were mediocre to sub par and was totally rocked in his first month of 2011 :

handicapping tip. if you want an edge on the books in respect to a pitchers performance, look at FIP not ERA.

it is a better indication of future pitcher performance than ERA.
