You're telling me. I dont buy the "injury." I think its a phony excuse to get him to stay in the closer's role. Addison Reed is the closer of the future. No clue why they dont turn to him.

Kenny is saying that they want to preserve his arm for the future and not put so much stress on it this early in his career. If he REALLY has an injury, being put in the closers role is not the answer. Maybe a 15 day DL stint is the answer. Just feels like the Sox are in panic mode a month into the season when they're only a couple games out of first. No need to panic, Reed is there throwing 97 with a wipe out slider.

I pretty sure I saw somewhere elbow or shoulder issues.

If a pitcher is really having elbow or shoulder issues you DL him, you dont put him as the closer so he has to get up and throw every other day, then come in every three days. Dont forget, relievers get up and throw and dont necessarily see game action. This move is bs.
