If you go onto gameday, you can watch the game right now streaming live for free. I'm surprised.

#6Two of the worst teams in baseball, which is already a pretty boring sport, as the season opening teams. Great idea! Mariners looking like retarded clowns as usual, let's see whether the A's can get some runs off Hernandez.Comment -

#10but aside from that, every sport opens on national TV, and almost always in primetimeOriginally posted by Speedy88NFL opens with Saints vs Packers

No major sport I've ever heard of opens in the middle of the night in the home country
MLB opens at 6 AM and not televised[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual

#11Yep, and people wonder why baseball is fading in popularity. It's sh*t like this that kills the sport. How are you going to get people excited for the start of the baseball season when you open the season with Mariners vs Athletics at 6 AM???? I'm from Seattle, and I definitely thought it would be on ESPN, good thing I get the local broadcast.Originally posted by yismanbut aside from that, every sport opens on national TV, and almost always in primetime

#13Yeah, they counted as regular-season games, but in reality, not many are considering them the season opener. They wanted it in Japan because of the Earthquake last year, and the teams chosen were the M's and A's because of Ichiro and Suzuki. I'm sure MLB will consider the REAL season opener NEXT week, with the st Louis game.Comment -

#14These are my thoughts exactly, real opening day is isolated game Wednesday night on ESPN with the World Champion Cardinals involved. ESPN is even promoting it as "Opening Day", as if the two games in Japan are exhibition games.Originally posted by Masu485Yeah, they counted as regular-season games, but in reality, not many are considering them the season opener. #15LT, they're calling it "Opening Night"
whole thing is a joke. The games in Japan should've been exhibition games.[quote=jjgold;5683305]I win again like usual
