    Tuesday's hot picks
    YTD: 30-31 +13.38
    Yesterday: Overall: 0-0 0.00 Soccer: 0-0 0.00 MLB: 0-0 0.00

Best hit to date: Kalmar FF +550 (UEFA Cup game, Sep 18, 2008)

    Tuesday's hot picks

    Soccer
France League Cup: Vannes +200 (vs. Valenciennes)
This is a game between two sides heading in opposite directions. Vannes are at home where they're a perfect 3-0 while Valenciennes are a "perfect" 0-3 on the road. The only reason we're getting this nice price on Vannes is because they play in League 2 while their opponents play in League 1. Valenciennes is struggling mightily in the French League 1 and the League Cup may not be their top priority. Teams struggling in the league tend to not play their best 11 in this kind of games, which would help our cause. Prediction: 2-1 to Vannes.

    MLB
    Pirates +169
Karstens may be 2-6 for the season but his 2 wins have come on the road. In fact, he's pitched better on the road than at home. He owns a considerably stellar 2.50 ERA on the road which is one full run better than Bush's home ERA of 3.51. The last time he faced the Brewers at the Miller Park, he allowed 3 runs in 6 1/3 innings, which isn't any worse than what we expect of Bush. Other reasons to support this play:

    * Brewers are 0-4 in Bush's last 4 starts
    * Brewers are 0-6 in their last 6 during game 1 of a series
    * Brewers are 1-4 in their last 5 games following a win
    * Brewers are 2-8 in their last 10 overall.

    Cons:
    * Pirates are 0-6 in Karstens' last 6 starts
    * Pirates are 5-22 in the last 27 meetings in Milwaukee.

Remark: When last did the Brewers register 2 straight wins? Bush hasn't won this month and we look for that trend to continue.

    Royals/Tigers Over 9½ (+105)
Over is 4-0 in Royals 'last 4 road games
Over is 4-0 in Royals' last 4 road games vs. a team with a losing record
Over is 5-1 in Greinke's last 6 road starts vs. Tigers

    Angels -1.5 (+110)
Angels are 4-1 in Weaver's last 5 starts vs. Mariners.
Angels are 8-2 in Weaver's last 10 starts during game 2 of a series.
Mariners are 2-8 in Feierabend's last 10 starts.
Mariners are 0-5 in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.

Remark: The issue here isn't about which team will win but by how many runs will the Angels win. Given that the Mariners have resolved to remain offensively challenged, the Angels runline should cash here rather easily.

The Over is now 4-1 in Royals' L4 road games and L4 vs. a team with a losing record. The Tigers only scored 2 runs on Monday, which kept the total Under 9. One hopes these Tigers will roar tonight to take this contest Over at plus value.

Mariners are now 0-6 in their L6 games vs. a team with a winning % above .600.
The Mariners lost on Monday. We hope they lose tonight by at least 2 runs.

I really like the royals/tigers going over 9.5 runs at +105. This game opened at 9 as the over under but action caused to go to 9.5 runs. Both teams will score some runs. I am thinking that the royals are going to light up Garcia in this game. The royals may score 10 runs by themselves especially if they get to Garcia early in the contest. I also think that both teams will score 5 plus runs a piece.

        Vannes +200

Vannes drew 2-2 with Valenciennes. These soccer games keep getting tricky.
