Best hit to date: Kalmar FF +550 (UEFA Cup game, Sep 18, 2008)

    Saturday's hot picks

    Soccer
England (League 1): Carlisle +163 (vs. Leeds)
Carlisle is at home where they have a 100% record, scoring an average of 3.33 goals per game and conceding an average of 1.33 goals per game. One expects them to pull one over Leeds in this battle of two teams seeking promotion to the Championship.

Netherlands: PSV Eindhoven +100 (vs.AZ Alkmaar)
PSV and AZ are 2 teams heading in different directions. PSV is 2-0 while AZ is 0-2 this season. PSV are the league's defending champions and they've begun their title defense in style, scoring 6 goals in their L2 league games while conceding a grand total of one.

    MLB

    Twins +142
Kazmir is 1-3 against the Twins.
Rays are 1-5 in Kazmir's last 6 starts following an outing of less than 4 innings in his last appearance.
Twins are 12-6 in the last 18 meetings in Tampa Bay.

Remark: Note that Kazmir didn't last more than 4 innings in his last outing. Since the Rays are 1-5 in Kazmir's L6 following an outing of less than 4 innings in his last appearance, one expects that the Rays will go 1-6 in that role today.

    Indians
    -1.5 (+170)
Indians are 4-0 in Sowers' last 4 starts during game 2 of a series.
Indians are 4-0 in Sowers' last 4 Saturday starts.
Tigers are 1-6 in Verlander's last 7 starts vs. Indians.
Tigers are 0-4 in the last 4 meetings.
Tigers are 0-5 in Verlander's last 5 road starts vs. Indians.

Remark: With the high number of runs expected in this one, the run line is the play.

Other recommended plays (doesn't count in the hot picks record):
    Tigers/Indians Over 10 (-105)
Over is 5-0 in Verlander's last 5 road starts vs. Indians.
Over is 10-1 in Verlander's last 11 starts vs. Indians.
Over is 5-1 in the last 6 meetings in Cleveland.

    Mets -114
Mets are 5-1 in Martinezs last 6 starts vs. Braves.
Mets are 10-1 in their last 11 road games vs. a right-handed starter.

Houston is definitely a nice proposition.
I'm also looking at Twins/Rays Over 8½ (+100). Even with Slowey and Kazmir taking the mound, it appears this total can easily be exceeded considering that the Rays are hitting hard right now and the Twins are expected to do better than their Friday's one-run show. Kazmir was hit hard in his last outing and that may just be the beginning of a slump. We've seen this with a decent number of pitchers - Webb, being the most glaring.

wow yea the mnn/rays bet is iffy to me both pitchers are low whip, and obp factors and also carry that over consistently road/home ,only thing i dont like is both have decent hitting, but its offset with decent defense.if you see something else go for it but if its because of the +100 line i would leave it alone

Rays for me too. They're great value at home this season (+27 units), and more specifically as a moderate home favourite they're extraordinarily reliable: 28-2 over three years, when the odds would suggest something like 18-12.
