Talking to a guy at the casino about baseball sportsbetting
He said that he would take a team that got sweep on the road and in the return series he would martingale bet the home team 2k in game 1, and if it won he would stop if it lost he would bet 4k on game 2, etc.

Says he makes money hand over fist doing this?

He was lying. He want's you to do that so in the long-run, you will lose all your money.

Em - I would probably listen to your theory of possibly 2 series sweeps in a row. Then I would start your system on Series 3 Game 1. Even though I've seen 2 series sweeps before when a team went 0-6... I find it hard to believe they would go 0-9.

If you guys want to do some research. Do the Sunday Night Baseball Research from last year. Do the Martingale system by taking the favorite. I don't know the exact record last year... but the favorite destroyed the underdog around 3-1 roughly. Correct me if I'm wrong... but the favorite won with a high winning percentage on Sunday Night Baseball.

Half Morrison - Morrison is regardless if sweep was on home turf or away. And Morrison utilises runline when available.

No Martingale system can work long term, always breaks down in simulation given time.

So in roughly 25-30 games last year the favorite won at a high percentage?

Incredible research here. Even more incredible that favorites win at a high percentage on sunday.

Maybe we can dig a little deeper and find that favorites win at an even higher percentage on sunday when there is a full moon and the starting pitcher takes a shit 30 minutes before the game?????

What happened to "no systems in the think tank"? This sounds like a "system" to me since I don't see anything about line>fair etc.

Oddly enough you would only expect the underdog to cover majority of the games on Sunday Night Baseball... but the Favorite won majority of them. It's really unexplainable. I don't have the accurate numbers... but from the top of my head... soft favorites... medium favorites even heavy favorites covered most of the time. Had to be in the 60%+ range.

Gotta love those "fool-proof" martingale system.

You can profit using martingale, it is possible. You just need to meet 2 conditions:

                            1. Have an infinite bankroll

                            2. Have no betting limits

But if you had an infinite bankroll, you would not be wasting your time with betting systems I suppose...

Left hand doesn't know what the right hand is doing. Justin7 stickies "no systems" and some other goofball mod moves this crap in here.

So if I understand this right, you would, for example, after the Mets got swept on the road against the Nats, the next time the Mets visit the Nats you would martingale the Nats until they win?

                                    ------------

Or you would Martingale the Mets the next time the Nats come to town?

going 0-6 isnt very rare, a lot of trashy teams in MLB.
