    handicapping baseball
In baseball much of handicapping is based on the pitchers .era however that does not tell the whole story. Lets say you have two opposing pitchers with the same .era or too close to compare. how do you choose the pitcher or winning team ? do you look at the average number of hits allowed or do you use some other stat.

There isn't a single stat line to look at. There are thousands of stats that you can look at. Honestly I look at WHIP more than ERA, I look at lineups for that day, remember a given lineup isn't the same every day. Hell Night vs Day games plays a role, ballparks play a role that I look at. I can't really answer this.
