As long as he stays healthy and has the desire to play that long it is his.

I think he will break it because, as far as I know, he hasn't had any major injuries. I don't even think he has any minor nagging injuries. That bodes well for the future but all it takes is one bad break.

Although Griffey would have been perfect, I wouldn't mind if A-Rod eventually breaks it. It is making me absolutely sick to my stomach to see Bonds back and hitting his first HR tonight. They showed a graphic of him, Ruth and Aaron and all I could think of is that the latter two didn't cheat to get to those levels. Aaron had to battle racism and Ruth was too busy drinking and living it up (which probably stole a few home runs). Sucks.

Well said. Griffey in his prime is way better than A-Rod.

Again, that's true about Griffey. Big difference: we all remember the highlight films of Griffey risking life and limb to get an out in CF. Of course, his later injuries all seem to be leg-related so maybe there is no connection with is hard times of late. However, how often do you see A-Rod's jersey with dirt on it from making an extra effort? That'll keep him from getting injuries or wearing down!

Don't think so either. Don't want him to either. Nobody equals Hammerin Hank!!!!! He did it with no juice either. Incredible the number of HRs he hit after turning 40 yrs old.
