    What happens in September?
Ok, we're one day into the season's final month now, and if the playoffs started today, this is how the LDS matches would line up:

    NATIONAL LEAGUE
    Milwaukee vs. NY Mets
    Arizona vs. Chicago Cubs

    AMERICAN LEAGUE
    Boston vs. LA Angels
    Tampa Bay vs. ChiSox/Minnesota

So of those four in the AL and four teams in the NL, which ones don't make it and who takes their place?

The AL seems easiest, with either the White Sox or Twins staying home as the pair is currently tied in the AL Central. I'm thinking Twins win that division based on their remaining schedule. Minnesota faces the Blue Jays (3), Royals (6), Tigers (3), Orioles (3), Rays (4), Indians 3 and White Sox (3) with a 12/13 Home/Away split if I added it up right. Chicago has the Indians (5), Angels (3), Blue Jays (4), Tigers (3), Yankees (4), Royals (3) and Twins (3) with a 13/13 Home/Away split. And that 3-game series between the Twins and White Sox is in Minnesota.

In the NL, it comes down to which teams win the East and West Divisions, and I'm going with the Phillies to come back and displace the Mets once again. Philly has a 13/11 Home/Away split in their favor and face the Nationals (5), Braves (6), Marlins (6), Brewers (4) and Mets (3). New York has a better home/road split at 15/9, but they also draw the Cubs in their mix for four games. The Mets have the Phillies at home as well for the three remaining, so maybe the Dodgers pushing the D-backs aside is a better pick?

    Who do y'all like?

Well you only have to go back to last year for an example of just about anything can happen when the N.Y. Mets had a 7 game lead in the N.L East on September 12 and managed to lose 12 of the last 17 to miss out on the playoffs .
