Washington winning 3 out of 4 at Chicago,I DON'T THINK SO and Harden should pitch scoreless ball here as Washington can't hit and the Cubs should win this one easy.

The Cubs might be better off with Ward starting for Lee. Bergmann is an extreme fly ball pitcher. Lee versus fly ball pitchers:
2008: .660 OPS
Career: .807 OPS
Ward versus fly ball pitchers:
2008: 1.139 OPS (Warning: very small sample size)
Career: .825 OPS

Considering:
1) Flyball pitchers are the type Chicago struggles most against
2) Wind is blowing in, helping flyball pitchers
3) Bergmann seems to be legitimately better during the day with a stellar 3.38 ERA and .299 BAbip
three runs in 6.1 innings isn't bad.

Why are some people so chicken shit to play run lines.I agree they can be tricky, but I know what spots to lay the 2.5 line as I've won almost always and it looks like another winner today.

If you cap a game and predict a blow out the RL or ALT RL is of course the right play. It is just frustrating and easy for people to say RLs are dumb plays because of times they've been snake bitten on a game where the team they backed won but only by one run. It's selective thinking. Betting is a long-term process; sure it is made up of single events but concentrating on each one is a losing thought process.
It is very similar to how some teams in football would be better off going for two every single time because they would convert over 50% and thus score more points in the season. No matter the situation you go for two. Inevitably you would fail at a crucial point where you lose by one point, and people would call for the coach's head, but despite that single event's result it was still the right move.
