Volstad has been real solid since being called up and Ryan Dempster is the epitome of a mirage. Take a look:

Volstad through 38.2 IP has a 3.03 ERA and has given up ONE home run. His SLG against is .308.

Minus the meltdown by Kevin Gregg on Friday night, the Marlins have outplayed the Cubs this weekend.


Just sit back and watch the money start pouring in on the Cubs. By game time the Marlins will probably move to +130.


EDIT: I originally had Dempter's name in there for those pitching stats but it was VOLSTAD I was talking about.

I know it's such a small sample size, but Volstad has yet to pitch well in Dolphin stadium. Last game against the rockies he screwed up.

I hear you fifawcs but its a ridiculously small sample size. Dolphins Stadium is a pitchers park. Day games are tough on pitchers at Dolphins Stadium because of the intense heat and humidity but this will effect Dempster as well obvioulsy.

both pitchers have looked solid in their last outings, so taking under 8,5 for the game, besides under is 6-0 in last 6 Volstad starts. That's a killer stat!!!

Right cause there is no value in taking the Marlins at HOME with Volstad pitching (3.03 ERA) at +138

There would be more value taking the Cubs on the road at -140.

It's embarrassing watching him hit in situations like this. Guy's always swinging for the fences. Has great power, but Uggla's fundamental baseball skills are nonexistent.
