I like to hit Overs when the 2 starters combined WHIP is over 3.30. Silva (1.51) + Liriano (1.91) = 3.42. Looks like a great play.

My only concern would be Liriano has been pretty good (2 starts) and well, Seattle sucks.

liriano's stats are deceiving. they were bad early in the year. maybe over bettors are just looking at season numbers. silva aint that good tho. he played for minny previously if that means anything

I like the Under, Liriano looks to be almost back and will only get better with more innings. And yes, he is capable of shutting Seattle out.

JoeMama, you can't use Liriano's YTD WHIP because he was obvously not fully recovered from his surgery when the Twins statred him in April. His two comeback starts so far are a truer indication of his abiiity.

But he has shown last season that this is well within his ability.

I doubt that the Over will cash in the Twins game. Liriano in his current form is a beast. I see this as a contest in which only one side will do the scoring. I like the Under as I think this could end in a scoreline of around 5-1, advantage Twins.

LT.. Good call on Liriano's YTD WHIP. When I looked at it at a quick glance I guess I assumed that it was adjusted. It clearly is NOT. He has been great (although a small sample) since he's been back.

AC... I don't have my data in front of me but a while back I created a database on 3 years worth of pitchers combined WHIP and found that something like 65% of the time when combined WHIP is <2 the Under cashed and >3.3 something like 68% cashed. Not GREAT odds by any means but if you're consistent with other factors you'd do ok.

When I get home I'll get that data and post some 'actual' #'s... Might not be worth crap but I've had some luck with it.
