#2Just starting this now because I am ready to go to bed, mostly because the Suns' collapse/Lakers' comeback/officials' blindness (however you look at it) has left me in a shitty mood.
2* Reds -102 (Arroyo/Mulder) - The Reds kill lefties, Mulder hasn't had success with the Reds, and Arroyo had Mulder beaten the last time these teams met, before a Pujols walkoff.
2* Indians -110 (Lee/Vazquez) - Lee has been solid against the Sox, who hit RH pitching a lot better than lefties. Vazquez is not impressive.
1* Brewers -104 (Ohka/Rodriguez) - Rodriguez overvalued because of good starts against bad offensive teams. The Brewers offense is scorching, and Ohka is a solid starter.
1* Blue Jays +116 (Lilly/Bedard) - I cashed with Lilly against Bedard last week, and go with him again here. The theory is simple. Baltimore can't hit LHP, and the Jays kill LHP. Baltimore has struggled with Lilly in the past, and without Roberts and Tejada, it won't be easier this time.
1* Red Sox +101 (Wakefield/Wang) - Perfect spot for the Sox. Wakefield has been a thorn in the Yankees' side in the past, and Wang shouldn't be favored at Fenway right now.
Pinnacle:
1* Phillies (Madson) @ Marlins (Willis) Under 8 (+106) - I will literally take under every time the Phillies face a lefty, at least for the near future. They can't hit most lefties, and Willis isn't going to be a slump buster. Florida's offense sucks also.Comment -

#5I think thats a great looking card there. Was looking at the Reds, Indians, and Red Sox myself. Although the Cards are the only NL club to hit Arroyo this year and he was in line for the loss that game (before Juan Encarnacion dropped a sure double play line drive). They (Reds) did rack up 10 hits in just 5 innings against Mulder. I may play the over 9 or the Reds Team Total O 4.5.Comment -

#6the one thing that would scare me off the red sox tomorrow. is the the fact that Wakefield is pitching, and the boston catchers have trouble catching him. how would you guys factor that possability into your capping ?Comment -

Actually, I think the oddsmakers built that possibiility into their line, and maybe overcompensated for it - as I said, I don't think it will be much of a factor.Comment -

#9I am taking the Reds & Blue Jays for sure. Wandy Rodriguez might be the real deal for the Astros. He might be due for an off game since he has pitched so well so far.
I wouldn't step in from of the Whitsox right now. Tribe might have the starting pitching advantage but Whitsox can swing the bats and the Tibe bullpen is not very good as shown in todays ballgame vs Texas.Last edited by Alamorich; 05-01-06, 12:50 AM.Comment -

#11Rockies on value. No real lean on Reds-Cards, except for the Over at 9. I want the Red Sox to win (not a lean). Giants at home against the Padres on value and the abberation of the Padres scoring in the 9th. However, the two will put together a Total higher than 7.5 more often than not. Cubs because the Pirates can't score. If the Pirates Team Total is higher than 4, I'll take that. Lean on Mariners because the Twins currently suck. Brewers have too much momentum after roughing up the Cubs to bet on the Astros. Thats all I got right now. Waiting for the Team Totals to come up on Pinnacle.Comment -

Athletics: Street reports minor soreness
The News
Athletics closer Huston Street missed his 10th straight game on Saturday due to a strained pectoral muscle. Street took Saturday off to recover from his Friday session, but was hopeful he could return in a day or two. "I threw my second bullpen yesterday and had minor soreness," Street told the Contra Costa Times. "It's a day-to-day situation. It's heading in the right direction."
Our View
Despite the soreness, it seems probable that Street could be available this coming week. Fantasy owners who lack another solid option at reliever, may want to roll the dice.Comment -

4-28, loss to Blue Jays as home dog +104
4-15, loss to Twins as a dog +120 price range
BUT
on 4-9, they beat the Angels in LA as a -115 favorite.
They did struggle early in the year at Oakland at prices under -120 though (dropping the games on 4th and 5th of April)Comment -

Astros hit Ohka at .321 clip overall. Subtract Palmeiro and Lamb, both 0-for-6 lifetime against Ohka, and they pound him at .379 clip.
If the Cards and Reds can avoid the rain tonight in Pig City, I like the over in that one.Comment -
