Pros: The team that I know better than any other major league team is the Yankees. Like many other major league teams, when the Yankees get swept, they answer back in a huge way. This game seems like it will be huge for the team for a number of reasons. Say what you want about Sidney Ponson being a gas can. But this guy absolutely dominates the Minnesota Twins. This season alone, Ponson is 2-0 in 3 games against the twins with a 2.25 ERA. In his career, he is 11-2 with a 2.55 ERA versus the Twins. He is opposing Glen Perkins, who hasn't had very much success against the Yanks this season. He is 0-2 with a 9.00 ERA in two starts versus the Yanks. I have been following the Yanks since 1996 and can tell you with confidence that they will play well tomorrow. Ponson has assumed the role of the stopper in the rotation. He gets more run support than any other Yankee pitcher. If you want a great play at plus money, take this one.

Cons: The Yankee bullpen has been acting up lately.

I like your first post on the Yanks game where you highlighted Ponson's success against the Twins and Perkins' struggles against the Yanks. That was a great post. I can only play the Yanks on that basis - not on the premise of "they are long overdue". I don't fancy the idea of picking a team because they're "overdue".

You are right. It isn't a very good reason. But the Yankees need to win these game in order to stay in contention. So the sense of urgency on their part will be much greater.

I think the CWS are good value , seems like they're hammering Beckett though..

I think the Red Sox will take this game. Beckett is 3-0 in his career against the Chi Sox. His road ERA is a 3.38 this year. And Danks is 0-2 with an 8.68 ERA versus the Bosox.
