Dempster has done well at home this year but not lately and dropping 2 of his last 3 at home. Carpenter has yet to go past 5 because they are bringing back slowly but he has looked pretty good in those two starts. The thing is the cards pen will play a role in this but I look for the cards to light up Dempster and keep the hot hitting (.316 L10 vs rt) of late.
Over 7.5 +105
This is more of a safety net just in case the bullpen struggles for the card in relief. The cards will be good enough for at least 4 and that would be enough to give me a split. The umpire leans to unders on the year but not with these two teams. The over is 7-3 in his last ten Cardinal games and 5-2 in his last 7 games with the Cubs.
