    Cards/Cubs finale
Series tied at a game apiece after the Cardinals surprisingly rocked Big "Z" yesterday afternoon making tonight's match-up of the rubber variety.

Carpenter looked good in his last start before the rain came pouring down, and LaRussa might look to extend him knowing his club really needs this series to make up some ground.

Cubbies know the Brew Crew already won as WSH handed it over to them late this afternoon. Piniella marches out his best home pitcher of the season under the bright lights of Sunday night baseball.

Call Dempster what you want, but the Cubs would by no means be where they are right now without the former closers efforts. He's been stellar at home 10 or 11 wins with only a couple of losses, which includes the rain shortened game against Houston his last time out.

Carpenter's owned the Cubs in the past, but he's still working his surgically repaired arm to get to where he once was. Cubbies love to rake against righties, and should get theirs tonight after a very subpar outing yesterday.

Evening game at wrigley with a chance to push the Cards one-more game back and keep the Brewers where they are. Expect a solid effort form the home team as they pick up the rubber game and head east fro a crucial week of ball against the NL East.....

Hard fought win for the Cubbies. Incredibly close through five till Chicago blew it open. It'll be a shame if Carp's shutdown the rest of the year. Love to watch him pitch.

What else is there to say about Demp. Guys been so huge it ain't close to being funny. Hopefully the naysayers learned to understand that tonight. Go Cubs!!!
