    Sunday Value Plays
I went 1-1 +0.22 Units Yesterday after my parlay hit.

    White Sox -114
Pros: As the linesmakers continue to overvalue the Red Sox, I continue to fade Clay Buchholz. I must say that it has worked out really well, especially on the road. He is opposing a great home pitcher in Gavin Floyd. Opponents bat just .189 against him at home. Expect the White Sox offense to get to Buchholz early. Also, the White Sox have the better pen and will be looking to reclaim their AL Central lead.

Cons: I can't think of any.

    Dodgers -128
Pros: Billingsley is the Dodger's most effective pitcher this year. He has been even more effective against the Giants with a 3-0 record and a 3.77 ERA in eight career games -- five starts -- against the Giants. He held them to five hits while striking out eight in his first career shutout July 30. While Matt Cain has also been good, expect the Giant's atrocious bullpen to blow any possible chance he has at receiving a win today.

    Cons: None

Cain is pitching, but the Giant's bullpen negates his effectiveness.

that was such a bs homer that Lowell had. Quentin really should have fielded that and the ball was just over. It's 3-1 now and Buchholz can't seem to throw strikes.

The Yank's performance the past couple of days was very disappointing. They should have won the first two games. It is really difficult to trust Edwar with the game on the line. Even though Veras also played poorly, he is still a great reliever. It makes Yankee fans wonder if the Pudge trade was such a great idea.

the pudge deal is not working out
clearly he is not calling games well,
i watch just about every YES broadcast and his calls are boggling

they also arent really hitting , they havent hit all year long
arod is killing them, sexson is killing them, moiina is killing them, jeter is ok i guess.
their pen has been god awful lately, pettite has been horrid
losing joba is what will end their season though, that guy is a bad ass

Arod is not killing the Yanks. He has one of the highest Batting Averages in the league. Sexson is not killing the Yanks since he is in for 1 game a week and cost 100k. Molina is a great defensive catcher who can come up with the occasional hit. I think Jeter has been the biggest disappointment offensively. I think the Yankee hitting was very good the past couple of games versus the Angels. The team put up good offensive numbers, but they weren't enough to salvage the games at the hands of the bullpen.

As of now, the Yankee future is uncertain. If guys like Giese and Ponson can overcome adversity and the Yankees make the playoffs, then I will be very optimistic on the team's World Series chances.

arod doesnt have a good average when it matters, when the chips are down
go look it up. the guy is awful with risp and 2 outs, awful

yanks wont make the loffs if they are relying on giese, ponsons, mussina, and pettite bc they dotn score enough

time after time their offense gets runners on and arod cant get them home
take a look at his numbers when it matters
                                      awful

Yeah, but the fact that he continues to hit for high average is still worth something. He would be a disappointment if he couldn't do either. We still have guys like Abreu and Damon who come up with clutch hits. The fact that the Yankees remain in this race after all of the injuries that have occurred makes me think that their season isn't over just yet. After all, it is the beginning of august. There is about 2 months of baseball left.

but tampa has never been this good, and texas is no worse than new york, really.
and twins, chisox and boston are all better than new york. i see no evidence or reason to think new york will start hitting, they havent hit all year. arod gets 25 million a year
at what point will he hit when it matters
he doesnt in the playoffs, and he doesnt it the regular season either

i dont even hate the yanks, but they just dont hit when it matters. damono and abreau yes, but arod is their number 4 hitter, and the fact other teams pitch around abreau all the time SPEAKS VOLUMES
