Got Twinkies at -124, last night. Now they're a -140. I don't think the Twinkies can afford to get swept by the Mariners, in the middle of a pennant race. However, I didn't put a lot on the Twinkies.Comment -
Twinkies unraveling right before our eyes out west after letting late game leads escape them last two nights. Minny has trouble with the lefties (.267 batting avg), but M's have won just 2 of Washburn's 9 home starts this season. However, Washburn's 6-5 with a 3.46 ERA in his career against the Twins, and went 1-2 with a 3.26 ERA against them last year.
Blackburn's been much better at home then on the road, and the M's are batting a whopping .338 their L/10 against righties.
I personally think this match-up stinks to high hell, but if forced, I'd take a gamble with the M's to pull off the sweep. They've been playing some of their best ball of the year of late, and could ride the winning momentum they experienced the last two nights right on into today’s matinee.
