              FOOD FOR THOUGHT

Carpenter had never pitched on three days rest in his entire career until doing so in Game 2 of the NLDS vs. the Philadelphia Phillies, and the results were disastrous. Carpenter labored through 64 pitches while lasting a season low three innings, surrendering four earned runs on five hits with three walks vs. just two strikeouts. If he was that bad in that start knowing well in advance that he would be pitching on short rest, we have serious doubts about just how sharp he will be vs. the potent Texas lineup tonight after not knowing he could potentially start until two days ago.

Now we're comparing the outcome of world series game 7 to the mental impression of a Hollywood movie???

If Carp pitches on short rest like he did last time Texas will have an advantage in starting pitching, offense, and with both pens being dead from last night... I would say that equals a Texas win. I think alot of the people hammering St Louis tonight are the same people who gave them no chance going into the series, because Texas appears to be the better team. The Rangers hitters just seem more locked in to me at this point, and I think somehow they will figure out a way to get it done tonight.
