    Theo Epstein thanks Red Sox fans with full-page ad in Globe

    • Outgoing Red Sox general manager Theo Epstein thanked fans for 10 years of support today with a full-page advertisement in the sports section of the Globe.

    He also thanked the owners, players, Terry Francona and his staff. Here's the advertisement:

    If he can help bring the Cubs a series, he will have been the GM that ended the series droughts behind the 2 most cursed franchises. That would have to make him one of the best. No lose situation for him IMO.

    He wins and he forever is the hero in 2 cities. He loses and well he is just another guy who tried, no big deal there

      Classy? He quits after a disaster season leaving the Sox in the toilet to take a better job from the Cubs for more money!!

        How did he quit he wanted to stay and get an extension they didn't want to give him one with a yr left and cubs were interested and long term would extend him

            He'd better start by avoiding giving out monster contracts to guys like Lackey, Drew and Crawford. Cubs have enough of those already.
