    Manny to Marlins thoughts....
I have heard from a couple of places that Manny could seriously be moved before the trade deadline tonight to the Marlins. This seems like it would work out for all parties involved, both teams in serious contention, and the Marlins have the talent to get a deal like this done. One thing the Marlin's have proven is they have an unlimited supply of talent in their farm system. Every year the Marlins seem to go trade off all their talent, cut their payroll, but always remain right in the middle of the playoff chase. My question is who would the Red Sox want for Manny and is any player off the table from the Marlins perspective?

        Three way deal BOS-FLA-PIT
I believe it would go something like Manny to Fla all paid up for the year and possibly a Bos prospect.
Pit would get Hermida and two Fla prospects.
        Bos would get Jason Bay.

If Manny goes to the Marlins, the redsox pulled off a steal.

You guys are aware the Marlins have the lowest payroll in baseball....

Lowest payroll in MLB. 22 million total.
Manny has two option years on his contract worth 20 million a year.
I am guessing in the trade Manny would ask Fla to void it and not pick up the option. Then Manny could easily get over 100 million contract in free agency.

Can't count out the Red Sox. Everyone thought they were all done in 2004 as well. Red Sox could turn it around in August easy.
Angels are tearing it up. LAA/NYY games these next few days will be good games to watch. Angels may burn out before the playoffs though.
The Yankees don't have the pitching in my opinion and they just traded away one of their better bullpen guy's Farnsworth.

As sad as it was to see Farnsworth go, the Yanks were smart to trade him. They traded him when his stock was high so they could get a veteran catcher in Pudge. If the Red Sox get Bay for Manny, that is a great deal. Bay is the same skillwise as Manny, but much younger and healthier. I think the team that would be getting the worst end of this deal would be the Pirates. Although, it depends on which prospects they get and if they turn out to be solid.
