Tell me why NOT to take the over

I know both pitchers are ok but both teams bats are hot, 7.5 just seems to low for me, i'm poundin the over................or am ion my own?

Obviously this is my first post, but here are a few thoughts.

-Neither lineup have seen the opponents starters all that much, which favors the starters in this matchup.
-Texas has a phenomenal offense, but it's not as potent on the road this season.
-It's also important to consider the first 5 or so innings of this game, barring a meltdown, you have both Chris Carpenter and CJ Wilson getting potentially crucial at bats. Neither pitcher hits well. This will result in easy outs, and potential rally killers.
-From the fifth inning on there will be plenty of pinch hit opportunities, but both bullpens have pitched so well that there may be no score throughout this one.

Might be a trap....

both offenses had been clicking, however the days off in between games usually disrupts the grooves that hitters get into. Wilson and Carpenter are no pushovers. Both bullpens have done an exceptional job and the time off in between favors the pitching side of it. I really like the under in this game

Forecast for tonight - NW winds at 15-20 mph. When the wind blows NW at Busch Stadium from 15+ mph, the under has come in 6 out of 8 times this season. Just sayin'

RoadDog's reason is the only one that gives me pause on playing the over. I'm relatively confident in the over in a calm or light wind situation, but it's more iffy with the strong wind pushing balls towards the foul pole. I still went with the over because I think there's enough value, but it's a close call.

This game is the ultimate coin flip. I think the smart money is on the Cardinals for the series. If they win game 1 you can hedge and take Texas for the series at probably around +170. Guarantees you money. Just a thought.

I took the over at 7 even. I don't mind playing for a push. The way I see it, 54 outs to get 7 runs with 25+ AB's from Napoli, Cruz, Beltre, Young, Freese, Pujols and Hamilton. I know these pitchers can throw but it only takes 1 of them to really get shelled and both of these teams have big bats to keep a rally going.

I agree with the pitchers batting you hurt your chances, but that is figured into the run total already. I'm probably going to eat my words tomorrow, but the over has been pretty good to me this post season.

I'm not driving myself crazy thinking about this one. My gut since Monday said over is the play. Both offenses are hot and Carpenter will not make it past 5 or 6 with Card's bullpen being hittable. I like the over 4 first five as well.
